Roatan Backpackers Hostel

Roatan Backpackers is on a residential side street in Sandy Bay, which means island life rather than the tourist strip. There is a pool and patio, a communal kitchen, a restaurant, a garden pergola with hammocks, a small living area with a book exchange, and a social porch. Wi-fi is free.

The nearest beach access is three minutes on foot, with good snorkelling about 200 metres out. A few cheap comedores are within a five-minute walk; the more touristy restaurants are fifteen to twenty. West End is a few minutes by taxi if you want a night out.

Room types run from a budget single up to larger private rooms — tell us your group and budget when you enquire and we'll check what's free.

Everything is self-catering. Rooms come with linens and towels; the communal kitchen is cleaned daily but shared, so bring some patience. Laundry is $6 a load.
